Child's manipulative games.
In second, and even in the third, At the beginning of life, a child is fascinated by movement, the ability to move from place to place, moving in any direction. Therefore, games during this period consist mainly in moving or transporting various objects and performing a series of simple activities with them. These are manipulative games. Baby enjoys touching toys, shifting them, shifting, moving or transporting from place to place. The very manipulation of objects fascinates, sense, that they obey his will. Through manipulations, the child improves the efficiency of his movements and at the same time broadens his knowledge about the properties of various objects, learns to use them. A wicker basket or a plastic bucket can be used to carry various small items.
A useful toy for a child at this age is a large one, heavy truck or cart. The child loads blocks on the car, takes them to the other corner of the room, unloads and returns for other toys, after a while it unloads, to return for a new transport of "goods". In the yard, he likes to carry pebbles or sand from place to place.
A child in the second year of life is happy to play in the sandbox. So he will need a bucket and a sand spoon. She can't make cupcakes yet, but he enjoys pouring sand, pouring a spoon into a bucket and moving it to another place, fascinates building sand hills, sticking sticks in the sand, twigs. Filled with water, the watering can will enrich the child's experience. It will find out, that sand poured with water has completely different properties, than dry.
In the summer, let's try to allow the child to play in water or at least with water. The most pleasant, of course, to play on the shore of the shallow, slow flowing river or stream, but if we cannot provide the child with such conditions, let's try to create at least a substitute for them. In warm, convenient, sunny days bring a lot of fun playing with water, for example in an outdoor setting, in the garden or yard, a large basin or bathtub, where you can splash freely, make various valuable experiences and not care at all about it, clothes will get wet (it is reduced to a minimum) or the floor.
A small child takes winter walks in a pram, warmly dressed, wrapped in woolen blankets. From time to time, however, you have to let your little one take a few clumsy steps in the snow, allow him to familiarize himself with its properties. The child should feel, like feet getting stuck in freshly fallen, fluffy snow, experience, how to step on the already heavily dressed, how hard it is to stay on slippery ice. Let him try to grab the snowflakes too and let him watch, how they disappear in contact with his warm hand. It's worth showing him, how to make snowballs out of pure snow.
Lots of toys, with which we equipped the child at the end of the first year of life, can still use it. Bear, animals and dolls, set of colorful cubes 1 molds will not get bored so quickly. Although now certainly more than molds will please a wooden baba, from which the other is removed, slightly smaller, from the next one – even smaller. This toy is more difficult to use, requires greater efficiency. You have to work hard to open each new baby, to get a little less out of it. It is also interesting and not at all easy to assemble the toy.
Recently, interesting manipulative toys made of moving elements have appeared in our stores, capable of being dismantled and reassembled. They are a great activity for a small child. A small plastic deer can not only be disassembled and reassembled many times, but also feed, cart, put to sleep, in one word, perform many absorbing activities around it.
For toys, which the little child cherishes very much, also include spools, buttons, beads and other trinkets. Empty spools should increase the baby's possessions, because they are perfect for a variety of manipulations. You can stack them on top of each other to build towers, you can make a train out of them, can be loaded onto a car or cart and transported from place to place, they can finally be strung on a string. This last step is very difficult, complicated, but at the same time he exercises the dexterity of both hands, and also affects the coordination of hand and eye movements.
Buttons or scattered beads also fascinate every child. You can make an infinite number of combinations with them, segregate, or even just pouring from hand to hand or from vessel to vessel. Playing with these items should always take place in the presence of an adult. Because you have to be careful, prevent your child from putting a bead or button in their mouth or nose, didn't try to swallow.
A child at this age will enjoy the romper, who performs the unexpected with each pull of the string, funny moves. They will also be interested in a mechanical toy, which, when wound, moves rhythmically.
