Imitation games in the second year of a child's life

Imitation games in the second year of a child's life.

The games that appear in this period of life are described by educators as imitative. The child tries to recreate in them various activities performed by adults, tries to imitate them. He doesn't care about it yet, for them to make sense, logical sequence. He is satisfied with just reproducing activities, that interested them. Thanks to this, he acquires new skills and learns the purpose of many objects.

A little man who is taking step by step more and more confidently needs completely different toys, than an infant living its life lying-sitting or merely crawling on the ground. Just moving in any direction gives the child great joy, gives a feeling of strength, independence. His happiness knows no bounds, when, in addition, he can push a duckling in front of him, wagging his head funny, chickens hitting the base with their beaks or a butterfly opening and closing its wings with a loud clatter. Keep this in mind when buying a push toy, that the end of the stick is secured with a round cap, so that the child does not hurt himself in the event of a fall.

You can also buy a small ping-pong ball for a child taking his first steps. The toddler is fascinated by the ball bouncing loudly from the floor or rolling on it, encourages him to follow in her footsteps, picking up from the ground and throwing again. So it helps wonderfully in perfecting the newly learned walking ability. But let's remember, that this great fun for our child can be a real torture in our overly acoustic apartments for the neighbors living on the floor below. So let's not let it stretch too much, or let's organize it then, when we know, that the neighbors are at work. It is also a useful toy of medium size (10-15 cm in diameter) rubber ball. The baby will wrap her arms around her and press her against him, will enjoy, when dropped on the ground, it will bounce off it many times and roll far away.

When the child has mastered the art of walking completely well, You can buy him a toy to pull along: an animal that performs certain movements, big car or cart, on which you can load various trinkets and transport them from place to place. Pulling a toy behind you is more complicated than pushing it in front of you, it requires stopping every few steps, looking back, checking, what's going on with her. Wooden toys are the best. They stick firmly to the ground, they are static, they don't tip over. Unfortunately, they are rarely found in our stores, where colorful and shiny plastics rule almost indivisibly. They look spectacular, That's true, but they often perform poorly in their assigned tasks. Plastic ducklings or fish are great bathing companions. But a huge plastic fish attached to four wheels and designed to be pulled is not, unfortunately, a good toy. Because it is light, even the smallest obstacle encountered on the road becomes insurmountable for it. Half poverty, if the fun takes place in the room, then only on turns he loses his balance and falls to the side. The child patiently picks it up and places it correctly. It is worse in the yard or in the park alley. There, every slightest unevenness of the terrain is a serious obstacle for an unstable toy, causing a "catastrophe”. The frequent ones, every few steps, the following tip-overs annoy the child. Sometimes it doesn't even notice, that the toy instead of rolling behind him on wheels, moves lying on its side. With heavier, greater resistance to a wooden toy, such situations occur very rarely. The child immediately senses any movement irregularity. And that's what it's all about, to learn about the various properties of the objects used while having fun, learned to deal with them. Buying a plastic pull toy for your child, let's check, is it heavy enough, that it won't fall over with every move, or let's look for a three-stranded one, not four wheels, because it is more responsive, it tolerates "terrain" obstacles better.
